NAZARÉ

Between Lisboa and Porto there is the beautiful village of Nazaré. Considered by many as the most typical beach in Portugal, it enchants the visitors with its natural beauty. The mild climate, the hospitable and nice people, the magnificent light, traditions, art and fishing: these are the elements that have made Nazaré the muse of painters and artists, celebrated all over the world.
The shapely Nazarene cove is protected by its majestic promontory and above that place you can find Sítio da Nazaré. Sitio da Nazaré is an integrant part of the village, where you can arrive though the village ex-libris, the Lift, and allows you to have a memorable view from the beach horizons. In the top of Sítio, at Miradouro do Suberco, the view loses itself in one of the most beautiful maritime panoramas. Here, lend and religion find themselves in cult of Our Lady of Nazaré. Pederneira, once upon a time a primitive nucleon of the piscatorial community, is nowadays the calm guardian of memories from other age. Once upon a time the place was Coutos de Alcobaça port of sea and active naval shipyard but today contemplates the development of a beach that goes across the village.
The fishing port, located in the South of the beach, makes the synthesis of the village’s history, a place where the past and the present join together to improve the future of the Nazarene people.
To find out the essence of the Nazarene people is to go through the narrow streets, where life goes by at the rhythm of wind and tides. The Nazarene people are expansive and happy, hide the sadness with an open smile, sing while they speak and will enchant you.
Surrounded in smells of salt and sea, Nazaré invites all visitors to taste the famous sardines, among other typical plates near the sea.

Vibrating, sportive, animated, a perfect place for holidays or leisure, this is Nazaré. With all the enchantment that will make you come back.

Be part of the waves of our beach…

Nazaré invites!
